A misty lake, one that was, on this day, filled with magic, expecting someone to appear...
On the bank of the river, lay a young boy, not of this world, and awakening after a freak occurrence brought him here...
"Ugh... Wha... Where am I...?"
Keith Windslow groaned, as he brushed himself off, looking around with bewilderment. "Huh...? What is this place?"
In honesty, he felt a little fearful. He was not used to going to strange places by himself, and the realization that he was alone struck fear into his heart.
However, there would be something to distract him from this very soon...
As something small darted out of the nearby bushes, and latched onto his leg.
CHOMP.
"YEOUCH!" Keith yelled, as he fell over, pain surging through his leg as he tried to shake the little creature angrily, its small teeth fortunately only being painful and not actually properly wounding him.
"Oh, boy... Just running in like that, just like him," sighed a male voice from the bushes.
"Yeah... Maybe we should make him stop," a female voice agreed.
"Eh, this is kinda funny, let's wait ten minutes or so."
"Okay, no." A second little creature darted out, and pulled the first one away. "Let go, you're not doing anything to him!"
"Geez... Wait, what...?!" Keith blinked, looking at the trio of furry creatures...
"I... Huh?! What the heck are you?!"
"Thanks a lot, sis, you ruined our image," the first one grumbled, "we're supposed to be fearsome lake guardians, but..."
"Well, you weren't doing us any favors, those bites were kinda pathetic."
"Um... He's staring at us. What do we do?!"
"Um... Who are you?" Keith stared at them, bewildered. Talking animals?!
"We're the Huriomon siblings. And we're the guardians of the hero of Dragon's Eye Lake!" The first one yipped. "Though I guess we're not very useful as guardians... And there's not much to really guard. I'm Kim, and these are my siblings, Gret and Mia... Meeting a human is so weird..."
"Okay...? What's so special about this lake?"
"They say a great hero sleeps beneath the lake. But everyone who's checked can't find anything. It's weird."
"Still, we're supposed to guard the lake till the hero returns..."
"I see..." He looked back towards the lake... And his eyes widened, as he saw a light shining from beneath the surface of the lake's center. He was drawn to the light like a firefly, stepping towards the water, completely unaware of the fact that, as his feet touched the water, he could walk across the surface like it was sand.
Kim and his siblings looked on in awe, as they watched the boy walk across the lake, "h-hey, shouldn't we stop him?! He could drown!"
However, by now, he had reached the center of the lake, at the light rose from the surface, beckoning him to touch it...

Then came an explosion of light.
When the light subsided, a figure walked back across the lake, clothed in armor...
Mia rubbed her eyes, and blinked, "coooooooool..."
Stepping back onto the shoreline, the armored figured looked at his hand, Keith's voice coming from the helmet, "KnightArmormon, huh...? This is so strange..."
"Wait, does that make him the hero?"
"I dunno! Maybe the legend was all wrong? This is so weird... What do we do, now?"
The Huriomon siblings are up for grabs as NPCs, btw.
